A CRITIQUE OF THE MORDEN APOLOGETIC APPROACH.

The critique is not against apologetics, Christian apologetics in general, merely the approach most faithful adherents adopt. The essay criticises the modern methodological approach and then advocates for a more moderate system that utilises meekness.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT

Apologetics has a long history; several epochs have shaped the discipline. The enlightenment started or began in a particular context. Which then spread around the world. Descartes’s famous quote, “I think therefore I am”, aided many to flesh out their many illogical suppositions to build a life on the bedrock of reason and evidence. This may have had an impact on theological societies as well. As more people began to postulate rigorous arguments for the existence of God and why they believed Jesus Christ was the resurrected Christ and messiah.

The current generation inherited vast information from the pre-enlightenment to the enlightenment period. It can be a curse or a blessing depending on the posture of the heart. The responsibility then falls upon every man to utilise knowledge in the service of love.

EVALAUTING PRESSUPOSITIONS AND A PRIORIS.

The approach involves the utility of several techniques and philosophical avenues to demonstrate the flaws in the belief in the faith of the adherent. Those who use this method often disregard their confirmation bias and are steeped in showing the superiority of their true religion.
